Nolan River Wildlife Fundraiser 2026

Another opportunity in the form of the Nolan River Wildlife Annual Fundraiser allowed me to raise money for their efforts.  On the drive to meet Melissa I set the intention to keep my ego in check and sell every hat I brought.

This might the 4th event Melissa has pitched in and ran the operation. I pretty much just have my head in the iPhone and felt tip marker smell, drawing caricatures. I do perk up and accept all praise for how they turned out. After all the hats are friggen adorable. The caricatures are well... they are getting better each year.

Not everything I have put out on my tables over the years gave me the "nailed it" fuzzy. Animal lovers graciously helped me raise funds and purchased items here and there. Honorable mention to Joyce who smacks down a couple Benjamins at most events. I am proud of this year's stock and hugely grateful the attending animal lovers agreed.

We were able to donate a lot of bank, and I have only a handful of hats left. Props to the DJ who hawked the hats all night long. Props to my team of Guides and Angels, on both sides.

This event provided introductions for me to spread this hobby of mine to other organizations who are currently being deprived of the opportunity to own one of these beauties.

One last word of thanks goes to GEORG WILLIAMs whose original caricatures I adored, studied, practiced and put my own limited spin. Georg has passed but I want to believe he paints with me as I raise much needed monies for the animals.

United Pet Expo April 2026

One of three fundraisers I have scheduled this month is in the can. Thanks to my team of fellow animal lovers, we came close to breaking our all-time record.

We did set a record. The most dog breeds in all our 12 years of FHFP Pet Expo here in lovely Kentucky.

Focus on Fundraising

Admittedly I'm obsessive. Not like cleaning or doing things perfectly. Im a type Z actually. My obsession comes more in the form of being prolific. See All My Things blog. If I make one thing I make one in another color and it goes on from there until I have exhausted all possibilities.

I am constantly on the lookout for ideas to raise money for the little critters we displace with our modern society.

Ford Motor Company gave 50K to NRW because they support our efforts in rehabilitation of displaced wildlife here in KY. Big hug and Kiss to Ford who was not solicited for this gift.

I now have a painting hat obsession. As far as raising funds for Domestic and Wildlife causes, hats have outsold any and all my other crafts and products. To include the one on my head two years in a row. So here are this year's batch so far.  With another case in route I should be able to finish in time. I am preparing for two April Fundraisers, Forever Home For Paws, and Nolan River Wildlife. I will be drawing animal caricatures at both events while my lovely assistants do all the real work.

Georg Williams is the GOAT.

I fundraise for Animal Shelters as a Pet Caricature Artist. The first year I turned out crap caricatures. I made a ton of money for the Forever Homes for Paws: to my surprise. So I was asked back but felt guilty for not providing a quality product.

Georg Williams created his own style of caricatures that are both sweet and reflective of the animal's personality. I have redrawn every image I could find of his life's work. So you will see his influence and some of the below images are my GW practice.

Tom Richmond the GOAT for humans was another artist whom I drew and redrew until I was able to confidently add my own style. I probably filled six large sketch books just redrawing his catalog. I was never really able to come close to his skill level but that didn't stop me.

My animal caricatures are influenced by GW and his influence is apparent. There is an upcoming fundraiser where I am the main event. Pray for me. Although I am not confident in my finished products, I am able to turn out a better product than last year's attempt.

I hope that Georg is looking down on my effort with a smile because my intent, through donations, is to fill the jar to the top. I take nothing: I'm not really selling the caricatures. I credit Georg on my sign. Although anyone familiar with his work will see it immediately.

Getting money for VET bills is my passion. Drawing animals brings me joy. I am practicing at least one hour a day until the event. Did I already say, "pray for me"?

I still have two weeks to incur a miracle. Here are a few of the thousand attempts I have made so far.
